The tunnel thruster operates by using an electric motor or other power source to drive a propeller inside the tunnel. When activated, it generates a lateral thrust that enables the ship to move sideways, enhancing the ship's ability to maneuver precisely in restricted areas like harbors, marinas, or during docking procedures


The tunnel thruster design is based on proven technologies from France and Holland. With innovative effort of the R&D team, full-series ADVANCE tunnel thrusters with own IP have been developed. The development is done to meet continuous operation under severe weather in offshore. So all tunnel thrusters can be applied to continuous working ships such as dynamic positioning operation up to DP3, ice-class ships and research ships. As an integrator, the tunnel thruster system the company delivered is a package including prime mover, starter (normally reduced-voltage starter), hydraulic system and electric control system

Low tip speed for reduced noise

Skewed blades for less cavitation and noise

HF hub, same as for main propulsion

Klingelnberg gears

SS ring around propeller is clad steel not welded.

There are adjustable TC series and fixed TF series.

Blade diameter: 500mm-2500mm.

Power coefficient can meet auxiliary working conditions or DP function.

The adjustable propeller hub is the famous HI series hub.

The stainless steel ring is clad steel, non-welded
