Analysis of the Causes of Malfunctions in Marine Propellers for Large Engineering Ships
The propeller of a ship transfers the thrust generated to the ship itself, which is a component that converts the torque generated by the engine into kinetic energy.
56M engineering ship propeller - If the propeller malfunctions, the normal movement of the ship will be affected to varying degrees. The methods of handling different faults may vary. Choosing the appropriate method should be based on a reasonable analysis of the fault, or in other words, the analysis of the cause is also very important. The accuracy of the cause analysis directly affects the result of determining the type of fault.
Large container propellers - propellers are often entangled in fishing nets, which can increase the torque of the propeller and cause an increase in engine load. When overloaded, it is likely to cause the shaft system or propeller to stop, resulting in damage and deformation of the propeller system and propeller blades, and sometimes increasing shaft vibration noise.
Large container propeller - When there is an impact signal based on the highest speed in the shaft system, it indicates that the mechanical operation of the shaft system is abnormal. In this case, further inspection of the shaft system or propeller is needed to find the cause of the impact signal. The following faults may occur:
1. Deformation of the cover fins
2. Wear or damage to the stern shaft flange of the shaft system
3. The hexagonal bolt fixing the stern bearing is damaged or missing
4. The flange of the coupling connection is displaced
5. The reverse thrust block of the thrust bearing is damaged
6. Large container propellers - The vibration and noise of the shaft system increase, which is partly due to the blockage of the cooling water channel of the bearings by fishing net debris. Another advantage of large container propellers is that the displacement of the shaft coupling flange causes the shaft components to loosen.
